Main Line Historic Barn

An antique stable on the Main Line converted into a family home. New timber framing was deliberately detailed to feel as though it had always belonged, and hand-troweled plaster brings depth and age to the dining room and the family room. In the dining room, a custom metal surround and stone mantel give the fireplace a grounded architectural presence. In the family room, custom lighting and a built-in bookcase with a rolling ladder keep every book within reach, while the kitchen’s easy-care countertops look like concrete but were chosen to shrug off homework, baking and everything in between. The lower level is the kids’ zone, made for sleepovers, movies, popcorn and bunk beds, where a barn door designed to look original to the stable slides open to the girls’ sleeping quarters.
