Duck Crossing Residence

Lisa and JC’s first Lowcountry home, built in phases on a lakefront lot in Palmetto Bluff. First came a 690-square-foot, perfectly proportioned bungalow with a deep front porch, exposed rafter tails and custom copper gas lamps, photographed for The Classicist No. 13: The American South and for Cottages & Bungalows. Then came the Carriage House. The Carriage House’s three-duck copper weathervane represents Lisa’s three daughters, affectionately known as her “little ducks.” The main house came last, with custom cabinetry, a hand-painted terracotta tile backsplash, and the kitchen that made the cover of Beautiful Kitchens & Baths. One palette of white board-and-batten, metal roofs and deep porches ties the three together.
