A home is assembled from hundreds of choices: tile and trim, plumbing and lighting, cabinetry, hardware, paint and fabric. Every one has a deadline set by someone else’s schedule.

I sequence those decisions so they arrive in the right order, present them so they are easy to understand, and resolve the details before they become problems on site. You see your home come together while I manage the decisions and details behind it.

And the house stays yours. I listen first, keep the pieces that mean something to you, and design rooms to be lived in rather than looked at.

Complete, personally led interior design for new construction, significant renovations and whole-home furnishings, with every decision, selection and detail thoughtfully coordinated.

This is how most of my clients work with me. I take a home from concept through move-in: space planning, every finish, custom millwork, lighting, furnishings, art and the final styling. You are consulted on what matters and spared what does not.

Ground-Up New Construction

The best time to bring me in is before the shovel hits the dirt.

I join your architect and builder at the first drawings, shaping the interior architecture and settling electrical, plumbing and millwork decisions before they become expensive to change. Exterior materials and colors are part of the work.

Large-Scale Renovations and Additions

Significant remodels reward early, decisive design direction.

A tired waterfront house, a 125-year-old farmhouse, an antique stable. I set the direction early, sequence the selections so the builder is never waiting, and keep the finished rooms personal and livable rather than merely new.

Whole-Home Furnishings

A finished house is not yet a home. This is the layer that makes it yours.

For a house that is built or nearly complete, I design and procure the full furnishing plan and install it all at once, so you walk into rooms that are finished. Pieces you love are woven in; nothing is bought for the sake of it.

The best homes happen when client, architect, builder and designer sit at the table before the shovel hits the dirt. I read drawings, red-line plans, and keep selections ahead of the schedule so no one is waiting on an answer.

Exterior materials and colors are part of the work, so the house reads as one idea inside and out.

Questions I am often asked

What geographic areas do you serve?

My primary focus is the Bluffton and Hilton Head area of the Lowcountry, including Palmetto Bluff, Spring Island, Okatie and Beaufort. I also continue to work with clients up and down the East Coast, and projects outside the region are considered case by case.

Do you work on renovations, or only new construction?

Both. I work on ground-up new builds and renovations of significant scope. My services are best suited to projects that involve comprehensive design decisions rather than a single-room refresh.

How involved will you be in my project personally?

Very. Lisa Furey Interiors is deliberately small. I personally do the critical design work and oversee every project from kickoff through final installation. You will not be handed off to junior staff.

When should I bring in an interior designer for a new build?

As early as possible, ideally during architectural planning. Early involvement lets me collaborate with your architect and builder on space planning, electrical layouts and material selections before those decisions become costly to change.

What is your fee structure?

Fees depend on the scope of the project and are discussed at the initial consultation. I provide transparent pricing so you understand costs up front, before committing.

Can you work with my existing builder or architect?

Yes. I regularly collaborate with builders and architects my clients have already chosen, bringing construction knowledge and clear communication to the team.

How long does a typical project take?

It depends on scope. A new construction project may span 18 months or more, while a significant renovation often takes 6 to 12 months. Detailed timelines are established during design development.

Do you source everything, or can I keep pieces I already own?

I manage sourcing and procurement for everything specified, and I am glad to incorporate meaningful pieces you already own. The goal is a collected look that reflects your life and history.
